Arrrrooooo! My name is Bina and I’m a 9-year old rescue greyhound living in Atlanta, GA and may I just say, I love Pet Turf from Southwest Greens! I want to tell you the story of how I became the happiest hound in town!
When my rescuers first brought me home from the kennel they noticed I had begun scratching – a LOT. We realized I had become infested with fleas after going out into our warm, tropical yard to play and…do my business. They had to start giving me baths with cold water from the hose, which I didn’t like at all, and to top that off they had to put smelly, toxic flea powder all over me! I was happy to have a safe home, but boy – I did not anticipate all this!
Next, my mom and dad started noticing yellow spots on their dark green lawn. Dad, who always seemed exasperated at the amount of time he’d spend doing yard work, now seemed even more troubled at the ugly dead spots where I did my business. But a dog’s gotta go, right? Well I didn’t really have any solutions to offer them. Then again, I didn’t know about EnvyLawn Pet Turf from Southwest Greens of Atlanta.
One day there was some commotion in our fenced-in back yard. A team of men was working hard and, for a while, things seemed dirty – but they sure knew what they were doing! They were laying down large pieces of something that looked like a black blanket – but on the top side I saw the same brilliant green grass I’d come to recognize (I bet you’re thinking dogs can’t see color – well guess what? Greyhounds CAN).
The very next day I was free to roam about the beautiful, lush lawn again and run and play wherever I wanted. I suddenly realized I had stopped itching completely – even though I stayed under the warm sun for hours! And – there were no more of those unsightly yellow spots that let my dog enemies know where I was doing my business!
Dad is doing a lot less yard work now – he spends much more time enjoying the outdoors, playing fetch with me and mom and cooking delicious barbeque, of which he lets me partake from time to time. Once in a while when the yard is a little dirty he uses a leaf blower and…just like that – the yard is tidy and clean as a whistle!
Well, that’s pretty much my story. I’m the happiest hound in town now and everything is best! Oh – by the way – we just had winter and I noticed our neighbor dogs Little Lady and Jake the Boxer staring jealously through the fence while I chilled with a chewy on our clean, dark green lawn and they sat empty-pawed and scratchin’ on their itchy brown straw-grass. Just sayin’. : ) Bina out!
